Ron Sostenible 15YO La Isabela Vintage Collection is a unique rum, distilled and aged exclusively in the Dominican Republic. Aged for a minimum of 15 years in premium Bourbon casks, this rum honors and embodies the traditional craft and history of the La Isabela distillery. Exclusively selected casks journey across the Atlantic Ocean on an old wind-powered sailship underlining a commitment to the spirit of adventure and exceptional experiences. This vintage collection release has as a result of long tropical aging a complex but pleasant aroma with deep notes of warm flavours like ripe plums and muscovado sugar, as well as Bourbon vanilla. A long-lasting and smooth aftertaste, lingering pleasantly long after the first sip but constantly developing over time in the glass and on the palate. 

Ron Sostenible 15YO La Isabela

Ron Sostenible means “sustainable rum” in Spanish, and the base of this series is a wish to create the most sustainable rum in the market. All products in this series are produced with renewable energy in the Dominican Republic from the sugarcanes that surrounds the distillery, creating the basis of these amazing rums with a conscious mindset. This series is based on a pure juice made from pressed sugarcanes and not industrial or processed molasses. In our view this makes a world of difference in both taste and quality. 

The distillery produces all of its own green energy for production by reusing the biomass from the sugarcanes which means that the distillery is 100% energy self-sufficient. Furthermore, the vinasse, which is a waste product from the distillation, is used as a natural fertilizer for the growth of sugarcanes. Finally, at least 50% of the CO2 from the production is captured and used for local soda production. These factors all adds to a responsible, circular and conscious production that builds a framework of an truly amazing rum series. 

All of the rum in this series is sailed from The Dominican Republic by a traditional sail-ship powered solely by wind power. That means no fossil fuels and no engines! The bottles are made with recycled glass and the labels are printed on 100% recycled paper. Our new and improved cork stopper is made from recycled cork, and by adding active coal, less CO2 is emitted.
