Ron Sostenible 8YO This rum was distilled in the Dominican Republic using locally grown sugarcane from the fields surrounding the distillery. Tropically aged for 8 years in oak Bourbon barrels, this rum has developed a rich, smooth flavor with notes of toffee, vanilla, orange peel, and spiced oak. It has journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean on an old wind-powered sail ship, bringing you an exceptional rum with a taste of tradition in every sip. Enjoy it neat or in your favorite cocktail.

Ron Sostenible 8YO
Ron Sostenible means “sustainable rum” in Spanish, and the base of this series is a wish to create the most sustainable rum in the market. All products in this series are produced with renewable energy in the Dominican Republic from the sugarcanes that surrounds the distillery, creating the basis of these amazing rums with a conscious mindset. This series is based on a pure juice made from pressed sugarcanes and not industrial or processed molasses. In our view this makes a world of difference in both taste and quality.
The distillery produces all of its own green energy for production by reusing the biomass from the sugarcanes which means that the distillery is 100% energy self-sufficient. Furthermore, the vinasse, which is a waste product from the distillation, is used as a natural fertilizer for the growth of sugarcanes. Finally, at least 50% of the CO2 from the production is captured and used for local soda production. These factors all adds to a responsible, circular and conscious production that builds a framework of an truly amazing rum series.
All of the rum in this series is sailed from The Dominican Republic by a traditional sail-ship powered solely by wind power. That means no fossil fuels and no engines! The bottles are made with recycled glass and the labels are printed on 100% recycled paper. Our new and improved cork stopper is made from recycled cork, and by adding active coal, less CO2 is emitted.
